Tons of Hidden Links on CatterySearch.com

There is a lot of sites for Cat Lovers and the competition is tough in this monstermarket. No wonder many siteowners take the easy way to top ranking.

This not about ranking for Cats though. It’s about ranking for Wedding Photographers. And our suspicion is that The CatterySearch is a False with another mission than to help people finding Cats.

If you disable all styles it you will see lots of hidden links on every page of the site. And all hidden links is pointing to wedding photographers like this example:

Why links to wedding photographers only?
Well, it turns out that Denis Zaslavets, the owner of CatterySearch also owns the wedding domains.

Does it work?
We simply don’t know. A few tests shows that the wedding photography domains is poorly optimized and none of the keyword phrases we have tested is found on the SERP first page.

Our conclusion is of course that this is SEO Spam and that proper SEO in this case probably would give the wedding photography sites a boost in the SERP’s. The technique used in this case is probably useless.

Google will block your site if you do Black hat SEO, to get well indexed with Google many SEO consultants will do this, good way is slow and study pick up with better rank

If you look for backlinks at Google for the wedding site nothing is there from the Cattery, so Google isn’t following the links.

It could be a case of hijack/inject but I doubt it because in 2003 they were spamming keywords in the metas, and the links started in 2004 (archive.org)

    Just my 2cents.

You shouldn’t put your links on this site, Goolge will ban your site too.

I just found this posting from a completely different search. Just for fun I looked up the Cattery again.
They come up #1 on Google for Cat Breeders Directory – not bad for an spammy site.
    Makes you think –
But I still wouldn’t do it – too much work in my site -

You should take the nofollow off your site. I don’t use it on my blog because I appreciate the effort in adding to my site – the value it gives me.
Actually if you are aware of hub sites – the outbound links have real value.
Just my 2cents – we’re all here to make money.
